Dr. Carey founded the Carey Vision Medical Group in 1998 to provide the personalized attention that many patients too often find missing in larger practices. Dr. Carey was one of the first surgeons in the Bay Area to perform laser vision correction and has performed thousands of these innovative procedures in his career.
Dr. Carey is also one of the few Bay Area surgeons certified to perform both laser vision correction and Intacs corneal ring segments for the correction of myopia.
Dr. Carey has been a member of the Stanford University faculty since 1994, is the co-director of the Stanford Eye Laser Center in San Jose, and recently served as Chair of the Division of Ophthalmology at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. Dr. Carey received his medical training and education at Stanford University, the University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
The Carey Vision Medical Group is a member of the Stanford Refractive Network, an association of leading Bay Area ophthalmologists dedicated to continuous professional development. All CVMG physicians are Board Certified members of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
